I finally retrieved my camera and have some pictures to share. YAY!

This is Megan's softball team after they placed second in the county. They played hard and I'm so proud of them!

This is Andrew helping our neighbor across the street with his Eagle Scout project. He's finished it now and I'm really proud of him. He built a storage system for Greenwood Park's Lads to Leaders puppet teams. I look forward to his ceremony!

This is what a very tired group of Lemonade Stand workers look like at the end of a long day. I was proud of my kids and their buddies for working so hard. All in all, they raised $690 toward the more than $16,000 raised throught the Alex's Lemonade Stands in our town. They also made the front page of the local paper. My friend has jokingly told me that our town gives everyone the opportunity to be a celebrity since so many people she knows end up in the newspaper.
After a long day of selling lemonade, I felt really lousy and almost decided to bail out on our family plans of going to the Acappella 25th anniversary concert in Nashville. That would have been such a mistake! I'm so glad we opted to give it a shot. It was wonderful to see old friends and reconnect and to once again hear some of the best harmonizing vocalists of all-time perform together again. They've still got it! It was like one great big flashback......
The Fab Four (Wayburn, Mo, George and Dwayne) singing just like it was yesterday!

Okay, this isn't a great photo, but it's the current five members of Acappella, Keith Lancaster and Rodney Britt who got it all started, the Fab Four and Gary Evans, another great former vocalist. I've been an Acappella fan for about 23 of their 25 years. I listen to all kinds of music, but their songs have had such an impact on my life for many years. As Megan was gathering autographs after the concert, it occurred to me that I was about her age when I started listening. Wow, talk about a reality check! Anyway, we ran into several friends there. Apparently we were easy to spot when they called Todd's name and hometown for winning a drawing. He won Acappella's latest CD, as well as two autographed vintage records (yes, those vinal things we used to put on turntables). It was a blast and I'm so glad I was there.
While I shamefully chose not to don my camera this past weekend in favor of savoring the moment rather than documenting it, we did have an opportunity to attend Todd's cousin's wedding at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in Nashville (a place I'll be returning to soon...beautiful!) Congratulations Luke and Kelly! And.....we attended a surprise 95th birthday party Sunday for a very sweet gentleman from Franklin (Todd's cousin's grandfather). He's still sharp as a tack and really loves our family. It was such an honor to be there. Think about it for a minute....what do you want to be like when you're 95? What do you want to say you've accomplished? The people there were a testimony to the life this godly man has lived. Being there really made me think.

Glad you got your camera back. Sounds like you have been busy!
I know you are glad to have your camera back. What a busy summer you've had... I hope that when the new school year arrives you'll be a bit more relaxed.
