Todd's President's Club Trip to the Bahamas

Seeing as how I have a very gifted salesperson for a husband, I got to spend a few days in Nassau, Bahamas last month. Todd worked very hard last year and made President's Club and we went on a sales awards trip to receive his award. I'm so proud of him. Actually, I would be just as proud even if I didn't get a vacation out of the deal. This is Todd receiving his award from Steve Catalano. One of Todd's co-workers, Sonya, also received the award and trip. And, thanks in part to Todd and Sonya's hard work, his boss, also named Todd, won the trip as well!

The trip was a nice getaway to the Atlantis Resort in Nassau. It's a beautiful, upscale resort, and VERY expensive. I felt like I was on an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. I'm just glad it was not on our dime! We were treated to several nice meals, a round of golf, and I got to get up close and personal with some
dolphins! (Cross that off my bucket list!) We also threw in some time at the spa and gym for good measure.

We didn't really get to see much of the Bahamas, which disappointed me since I love checking out the culture, landscape and all things geographical about the places I visit. In fact, we stayed pretty well busy on the resort and didn't even walk out on the beach until our fourth and final night there.

The resort was huge and everything was on a grand scale. Someone told me Disney was thinking of buying the property, which wouldn't surprise me at all, since it was already sort of a Disney-caliber place. It was beautifully landscaped and decorated, and my favorite part was that it was also a marine sanctuary. There were aquariums everywhere and lots of open exhibits with sharks, rays, fish, etc.

We did have to get all fancied up on a couple of occasions, which wasn't my favorite part, but still a little fun at moments. Call me crazy, but on vacation, I just want to throw on shorts and a t-shirt and kick back.

Probably our favorite thing we did together was spend time at the very elaborate water park on the property. Two of the waterslides actually shot through a plexiglass tube that ran through a tank with 22 live sharks. The best feature, though, was a lazy river that was more than a mile long and actually wasn't all that lazy. It was full of rapids, waves and detours to slides. Lots of fun! The best part was just getting to spend time talking. We probably talked more in four days than we have in four months. Hmmm....he needs to win awards more often!

Awesome! So cool for you guys. You think Elmwood will treat Gilbert to a trip like this sometime for being their top preacher?
