This year, instead of ordering pizza and hanging with Todd's family all eventing, we all me

t for breakfast at Cracker Barrell then descended upon MamaSharon and Granddaddy's house for presents and lots of card playing. I liked it this way

. In fact, I hope we continue the tradition. No cooking, no cleanup. Just time to sit and enjoy good food and good company.
It was an American Girl Christmas for Megan, Rachel and Lilli and a cash Christmas for Ashley. Andrew, however, got a

Ripstick. A Ripstick, for those of you still buying Fisher-Price toys, is a new kind of skateboard that flexes in the middle and has only two wheels instead of four. If you've seen my son you know that he has less than a percent of body fat, which means he has NO cushion if he should fall off this thing. I see an ER visit in our future. (Good thing I know an EMT.) The day before we celebrated Christmas with Todd's family, Andrew, suspecteing he was getting the Ripstick from them, told them he wanted them to have their gravel driveway paved by the next afternoon. Well, it wasn't paved. But, thankfully, MamaSharon has lots of linoleum in her house and Andrew got to practice quite a bit before we turned him loose on concrete. Before he opened it, he layed in the floor hugging it for a while.

Todd's mom and I have been passing this little beat up green gift bag back and forth for years. I'm not sure how we got started with this, but we write the gift-giving occasion on the bottom of the bag each year. It's been used for Christmases, birthdays and anniversaries. It's one of my favorite traditions. This year it was extra special because it contained a new Cricut cartridge!
Todd's brother and sister-in-law make the opening of presents even more fun. They're ver

y resourceful using lo

ts of household boxes to wrap presents. This year, gifts were wrapped in cake mix bozes, Velveeta bozes, and even trashbag boxes. We're just doing our part to help the environment!
Megan was really happy to get this DS game. I think they all had a grand Christmas with the grandparents!
