Megan and Andrew went on a field trip today to be "Junior Booksellers" at The Book Gallery. They had a blast and I

was really impressed with them. They got to open cases of books, sort and price them, enter them into the computerized inventory system, stock them on the shelves and even wait on customers. I was so surprised with how quickly they caught on and how attentive they were to detail. (I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised, I mean they are the smartest, most awesome kids in the world, right?) After only a few brief instructions, they handled their customers' transactions with very little supervision! They even let Andrew handle the cash and pop open the cash register drawer! Those book gallery folks sure are brave! Hmmmm....too bad they have to be 18 to get a

real job there. They'll make an employer very happy someday!

At the end of the trip, they got to do a little shopping. Megan has a big thing for Nancy Drew mysteries these days, so she was able to add to her collection. Andrew picked out a couple of Hardy Boys mysteries for himself. What did Mom get out of the deal? You're looking at it....photos!

Your kids always impress me! I have so enjoyed watching them grow into such wonderful people. I can still remember when Andrew was just a little older than Lydia! WOW! I don't want time to fly so fast.
It is still hard for me to believe that they are old enough to be able to do stuff like this. It seems like just yesterday you were telling me you were pregnant (June 10, 1994)! Time sure does fly by!
