High School Musical 2 Premiere Party

Tonight we hosted the Junior High (& friends) from church for a High School Musical 2 Premiere Party. While the kids seemed to really enjoy the movie, I think Lee and I had more fun with our themed meal. Trying to be as authentic as possible, we served a traditional school lunch complete with rectangular pizza, extra buttery corn, fruit cocktail brownies and even little milk cartons. We donned hairnets, aprons and those cheap plastic gloves and served with industrial tongs and spoons from industrial serving trays. Anyway, it was fun. Todd had decided we went a little too far overboard when he drove me to three different stores to track down those rectangular compartment trays. (A paper plate just wouldn't have had the same effect!)

My lovely High School Musical fan enjoying her traditional school lunch.

Our fearless leader laying down the law. They had to answer high School Musical trivia to see who got to go through the "lunch line" first. (I'm so grateful Lee's our youth minister...he's the greatest!)

Not your typical "lunch ladies!"

We enjoyed hosting this, but I do regret that I didn't actually get to watch the movie. You see, the kids watched the TV upstairs, and I was outnumbered downstairs by Todd, Kevin and Lee, so we had the TV on the Titans game instead. Oh well. The kids DVR'd it. I'm sure I'll have the movie memorized by the end of the weekend! All I know is Lee was talking to Ashley on the phone telling her to console Jaycie because Troy was "being a jerk" to Gabriella in the movie!

I'm guessing that these Musical movies are must-sees. I will probably need to go ahead and buy my own copy as I'm sure Karson will LOVE it like all the other girls. Is it similar to Grease and kids dancing and singing???

Too funny! I wish I could have been there to see that. By the way, I LOVE the rectangle school pizza! Who ever decided that corn goes with pizza????
