Megan walked in the room this morning and said, "Mom, why didn't you tell me it was only three days till Mother's Day? I haven't gotten you a present yet!" It old her that wasn't really necessary. The conversation continued til she said that she couldn't really afford to get me what she really wanted to get me. She and I enjoy all the American Girl dolls and their things. She knows that Josefina is my favorite American Girl and she wants to get me a Josefina doll and a stand so I could sit her by my bed. I think she just really enjoyed spending the day with me at American Girl Place in Chicago last May. It definitely goes down in my books as one of my top ten days ever.
We ate in the cafe, went to the theatre, tried on all the American Girl clothes, had pictures made with her and her doll, and she got to go on a shopping spree with
money she had been saving. I think I cried at least twice that day. It was priceless. And, even though I certainly don't need a doll of my own, just knowing that's what she would get me if she had the money melts my heart. I love my sweet girl!

Sounds like you two had a great time with the "American Girls". Megan and her doll look really good in their matching outfits. Isn't it wonderful when they are old enough to realize they want to give something back to you that stems from an awesome and special memory you shared.
I wanna go sometime.
By the way the doll your holding doesn't look like you. I want want to look like me.
Oh Dana. What a great mommy-daughter story. I can't wait to do that with Zoe. Megan has a kind heart. (which she got from her mommy). You are a wonderful mother. Happy Mother's Day friend.
