Getting There

Whoever coined the phrase "Getting there is half the fun," never flew from Nashville to Hawaii. I like to think of that whole travel ordeal like a pregnancy and childbirth. The travel is a stinky, miserable, uncomfortable experince, but the end result is definitely worth it. Todd and I often talk about how we look forward to going to Europe in the future, Lord willing. After this trip, however, he informed me that when we go, we better see all there is to see there because we're only making that flight once.

Anyway, when we touched down I had tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat just grateful beyond words for the incredible gifts God has given me. He granted me safe travel, which when you think about it is pretty amazing. I mean, to think that you could sit in a metal cylinder with wings and be catapulted several thousand miles away going 500 mph 4 miles above the earth and arrive completely unharmed is amazing. And, then I was grateful for the opportunity to be here. I love to travel because I am so taken with the world. To see things I've only ever seen on t.v. or in a book, to experience something completelt new thrills me to my core. It brings me more joy than almost anything. And, God saw fir to let me make this journey. It's certainly more than I deserve.

Glad you made it in one piece! Be thankful you weren't flying on to Austrailia - from door to door that was over 30 hours! It is torture but like childbirth, it is all worth it once you arrive!
