Monday in Maui

Yesterday morning, I dropped Todd at the golf course to play 18 holes while the rest of us rested. I sure didn't mind him golfing, especially since his round of golf cost more than what I spent on a dress and some other shopping the night before! Afterwards, we all went to pick him up and grab a bite of lunch before taking a trip to the Maui Ocean Center.
While thinking about my little National Goeographic moment with the sea urchin the day before, I remarked, "This wouldn 't have happened to Steve Irwin!" Of course, then Michael reminded me how Steve Irwin died. Anyway, at the aquarium, there was a tide pool petting tank that said all the creatures in it were safe to touch. What was in it? Sea stars and URCHINS! See, I knew I wasn't crazy! You can touch them! Of course, later when when I was asking one of the divers there about them, he said there are many varieties and I got a hold of one of the dangerous ones. He did say that I probably didn't need that $446 procedure and that docs around here do them unnecessarily sometimes. So, he recommended looking at a book in the gift shop that sure enough explained the different urchins. It showed the one that got me and in all capital letters stated, "DO NOT TOUCH THIS KIND OF URCHIN."

Last night we went to the Old Lahaina Luau. It was fantastic. The food was great, the show was great, the atmosphere was great. And, of course, the company was great! There is something about sitting under the stars 20 yards from the ocean, being surrounded by beautiful flowers, trees and tiki torches and listening to calming music that is just indescribable. It couldn't feel more perfect. Well, actually, the only thing that would make it more perfect would be if my babies were here to experience it also. I'm having Megan and Andrew withdrawls! (And, Shelia would like to add that she's having Reece and Jack withdrawls...not Dustin and Melissa, just Jack and Reece.)

Needless to say, the hula dancers were amazing. David's comment was "That just defies physics!" Michael said, "Forget the coconuts, look at those hips!" Shelia was analyzing the guys' mudflaps and I was just being a good little girl and not lusting whatsoever.
Megan and Andrew, I love you and miss you very much. Thank you for being so good for Grandma Kay and letting Mommy and Daddy have this time together! You're the best! And, by the way, I found you some great stuff when I went shopping!

Luau's are fun and it looks like Michael found a little fun of his own. Great choices, Michael! Still wish we were there and don't forget "Ya'll suck!"
