I don't know why I'm not able to update with photos at the moment, but I'll fill you in with a few words on what we've done the last few days.
Friday, we took the beautiful drive to Hana on Maui's north shore. Michael has a few pictures of that.
Saturday, we took our convertible from the Hana drive back and dropped some of our luggage off at the airport, then Todd dropped me at the scrapbook store while he went back for everyone else and their luggage. The store was a little pricey, but they have the best selection of Hawaiian scrapbooking items I've ever seen. They print their own paper and make their own diecuts, so they have very exclusive Hawaiian stuff. They're called Island Paperie.
We all flew over to Kauai Saturday. Todd and the Dunns flew together directly and I flew on a different airline and had a brief layover in Honolulu. The coolest part of the flight thought was that I got to fly over the entire island of Molokai. I took some pictures of this I'll share when I can.
Our first night in Kauai was pretty laid back. We just went to dinner and got some groceries for the week. Shelia was unhappy with our accomodations, but we think they're fine. And, we're right on the water. I can't wait to show you the picture from our balcony!
Sunday, we went to church on Kauai. They're actually looking for a new minister. Know anyone interested? We'll be happy to travel with them to help them get settled ;-). We came back to the room for Sandwiches for lunch then took off on a little driving adventure to tour the southwestern part of the island. We stopped at some beautiful spots where I took lots of great photos, which, of course, I can't show you yet.:-( One of the spots where we stopped was a huge blow hole where when a wave hit the shore, water would shoot 30+ feet in the air.
Monday was kind of a lazy day. Todd and I went to listen to a timeshare spill in the morning in exchange for 2 free rounds of golf (whoch we'll be using in about an hour.) Then we came back and hung out at the pool for a little while. Shelia and I went and did a little shopping. Then, Todd and I went out on a date. We walked down the street to the Lemon Grass grill for dinner where I had lobster, scallops, fish, shrimp, steak, potatos, and veggies. YUMMY!
Tuesday, we went on a boat tour around the Napali Coast. It's only accessible by boat or hiking. It's the big, tall, beautiful sea clifs you see on postcards and calendars. These pictures are amazing. Can't wait to show you. Our captain took our boat in sea caves and we rode lots and lots of big waves. After we returned, we drove to Waimea Canyon and looked at the scenic overviews. This place is amazing. I don't know anywhere else you can be on the ocean, then 30 minutes later be looking over mountains as beautiful as anything I've seen on the mainland. Then we continued on to the overlooks that let you see back down part of the Napali Coast. On the Napali Coast, we saw places where Raiders of the Lost Ark, Six Days Seven Nights and other films were shot.
That's about all for now. I'll put the photos up when I can. Love you all!
